Scorpio Scorpio,
the ultimate expat nightmare. Currently residing in London and performing regularly
throughout Europe and the U.K., Scorpio pulls no punches, town to town, coast
to coast.
Scorpio epitomises the Oz suburban heart of darkness. It’s four on the
floor in a Holden Commodore, cruisin’ down the main street of some forgotten
town. It’s the sheer unrepentant violence of insane drug dealers, kings
of their own lunchboxes. It’s the laconic and base conversation of a family
living in a commission house somewhere in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
It’s a king hit to the back of the head on a Saturday night. It’s
Christopher Dale Flannery knocking back beers at the Tarcutta pub whilst waiting
for someone he’s been hired to knock off. It’s Bon, it’s Angry,
it’s Doc. It’s about knowing things are fading away, but it’s
not about clinging to the past.
Scorpio’s performance is all out warfare, never going for much longer
than 15 minutes. Scorpio throws himself about whilst telling tales of murder,
Satanism, B & S balls and bad done deals. Things get smashed, people get
hurt (usually Scorpio) but everyone leaves either bewildered or amazed.
The music is blistering electronic beats and oz rock loops, Scorpio ranting
over the top of it all.
Scorpio released his debut CD in 2004, called Ith-Zha Fith-Zha. Garbage Dump webzine said, “I'm sure a lot of folks will hate this, and I think this way SCORPIO SCORPIO accomplishes his goals. I find this CD very refreshing in the s***load of mediocre c**p passed for punk or subversive music these days. Thumb up, check this mother****er out.”
